NEXT WORKSHOP:
THIS SAT + SUN SEPT 10/11, 2011
Master Classes for all ages and levels all weekend-long, 12-4pm
"How To Audition for Musical Theatre" with Broadway's Michelle Kittrell, "Stilettos and Hip Hop" with Lil Wayne/Usher/Rihanna dancer Brittany Perry-Russell, and "Ballet + Neo-classical choreography" with New York's most elegant ballet guru, Francois Perron headline an AMAZING roster of Master Teachers giving Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Tap and STILETTO Classes! There's something for everyone, 7-Adult, Beginning to PRO!!
Join Broadway's tremendously accomplished MICHELLE KITTRELL in her "HOW TO AUDITION FOR BROADWAY AND REGIONAL THEATRE" workshop. Veteran of (8) Broadway shows and Dance Captain of (3) including Hairspray and Legally Blonde, Michelle was an agent with the famous GERSH agency for the last two years, and is now personal manager to a dozen top TV and Film stars. She will conduct mock auditions, and through the process, help you to refine your approach to presenting yourself at auditions, even helping you to understand what "the casting table sees" when they see YOU! Don't miss it!
This workshop and others are offered year-round. Spearheaded by former Broadway dancer Jacqueline Porter, The Dallas Conservatory/Park Cities Dance Master Class Series is the only program of its kind in Dallas, offering YEAR-ROUND MASTER CLASSES BY ACTUAL BROADWAY PERFORMERS, AND FORMER NYCB + ABT BALLET DANCERS. Students from all schools may "drop in" on daily classes, or take affordable Saturday or Sunday Master Workshops, just like NYC!
For example...
Imagine taking an affordable class on a Sunday afternoon with Tony Award-nominated ELIZABETH PARKINSON, star of Movin’ Out, and featured in Fosse … or Broadway’s busiest dance captain of the last few years, performer in 8 Broadway shows MICHELLE KITTREL ... or the biggest names in Contemporary Dance like international Superstar DREW JACOBY or hot international Master Teacher TOKYO INOUYE.
They'll share choreography from their most recent projects and also spend time answering ALL your questions about becoming and being a professional dancer!
(Please visit our Faculty page to read all about Elizabeth and Michelle...)
Or, take regular Sunday classes - each and every week - with DFW's absolute top dance professionals, many of them on Faculty at SMU, or Directors of their own award-winning schools ... amazing teachers like Lisa Slagle, Leslie Peck and superstar "new modern" choreographer BRUCE WOOD!
Master Workshops and Classes are presented in our gorgeous, large, centrally located Dallas studios (Inwood + Lovers) and students from all DFW dance schools and college programs currently do, and are encouraged to attend.
2011-2012 DATES ARE NOT YET SET … they're arranged according to the artists’ schedules. If you'd like to be invited to Broadway workshops and weekly Sunday Master Classes, please jot a note by clicking here. Some classes have level/training requirements, and some are open!
